‘Celebrations In The Era of Social Distancing'

‘Celebrations  In The Era of  Social Distancing'

I had once presented at AIMA on a topic 'Achieving Leadership In the Era of Disruption’. Yes, disruptions are common. It is how we come out of it and lead the way.

I re-collect from my Facebook memory on how demonetization in India gave us the new challenge of ‘going digital’.

In 2017, Vishukaineetam too went a little digital.

‘Vishukkaineetam’ is a practice of distributing wealth in form of coins during the Vishu festival. The elders of the family give away coins or notes to the younger ones. Back then, India moved from cash & coins to Plastic Cards & Wallets.

The digital payments in India had tripled since demonetization. By the compelled use of digital payments, it has now become the habit of many.

Vishu, Rakshabandhan, Onam, Diwali in 2020 will all see increased contact less digital payments, especially the digital wallets as we are practicing social distancing and staying more at home due to Covid-19 pandemic.

Google Pay, Paytm, MobiKwik, PhonePe etc thought ahead of times and had already penetrated the Indian digital market.

Yes, the innovators are growing their market share while we celebrate festivals at home.

Happy Celebrations Dear All !
